December 3, 2024by HPCNEF Staff0

From April to July 2024, the Florida Department of Health in Flagler County, the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County, AdventHealth, Halifax Health, One Voice for Volusia, Flagler Cares, and the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida, Inc. gathered primary data from Flagler County and Volusia County residents and secondary data spanning the past several years as part of a Community Health Needs Assessment. This effort, focused on assessing healthcare and quality of life for Flagler and Volusia counties’ residents, resulted in a detailed Community Health Needs Assessment Report, which we are proud to release today.

The three priority areas of focus for the next few years are mental health and disorders and drug and alcohol use, health care access and quality, and economic stability and social and community context.

This assessment highlights areas where specific interventions and policy changes could have the biggest impact. Once key strategies are selected based on their potential effectiveness and the community’s capacity to implement them, the health improvement process can begin. From there, steps will be taken to move toward healthier Flagler and Volusia counties.
